Having spent the last two years with Tom, ironing out all the myriad questions regarding the appearance of the 1838/9 station, finally I feel confident enough to make a small start. This is a master for one of the decorative ‘false chimneys’ that decorate the apex of each gable end. Made from styrene (in this case Slaters Plastikard) initially I felt that I could scratch build a set of four. However, since this one took me several hours I decided it would have to be a master and I will cast the others from it, probably in white metal as it’s the easiest solution for me.
