Interior detail of the Double Coupé

Due to the open nature of the coupé ends the interior detail is worthy of greater attention!

Having been away for two weeks and been floored by Covid since returning, it’s been a while since I‘ve felt motivated to model. However, feeling a tiny bit brighter this afternoon I tackled a job which I’d been putting off as it firmly belongs on the ‘too fiddly’ list.

This is my attempt at a generic seat and back in buttoned upholstery, the buttons being set at 6in. centres off-set which looked about right. It is a ‘three abreast’ master from which I will create a silicon mould and produce resin castings. These will then be suitable for any full width coupé compartments but can also be cut down to fit the narrow bodied Mail enabling me to complete those models.

A further blog entry should cover the mould making and casting.
